The Bloor Cinema in Toronto (506 Bloor St. West at Bathurst) is showing a documentary called "The Rape of Europa" from Jan. 25th - 31st.

An in-depth look at the systematic theft and destruction of art at the hands of the Nazis, and the journey to rescue and retrieve these lost and missing treasures. The film spans seven countries and features interviews with experts, as well as rare archival footage. The Rape of Europa is an epic chronicle that charts the twelve-year attempt to eradicate the history of Jewish art and culture, and the efforts of Monument Officers from the United States Army, archivists and art lovers to track down and return these stolen items to their rightful owners. Based on the acclaimed book by Lynn H. Nicholas. Shortlisted for an Academy Award.
