In 1867 Austro-Hungarian Jews became entitled to full civil rights. In 1918 the Hungarian city Pozsony (German Pressburg) became part of Czechoslovakia, and was named Bratislava. Accomplishments of emancipated Jews in architecture, arts, literature, science, medicine, sports, commerce, etc. are described. Images of individuals and their works or businesses are shown. Many perished in the Holocaust. Hence, the book symbolizes a memorial to Bratislava Jews.
