Jewish Artist Spotlight: Matisyahu

Not many artists are as recognizably Jewish as Matthew Paul Miller, better known as Matisyahu. Matisyahu wowed the Jewish and Reggae worlds by mixing his reggae styles with Jewish commentary, all while wearing traditional Hasidic garb. Matisyahu released his first album, Youth, in 2006, which featured King Without a Crown, an unexpected Top 40 hit. Last week, Matisyahu released his third studio album, Light. According to early reviews, the sounds heard on Light are much more diverse than previous albums, with a little less mention of G-d and Torah.

Unfortunately, this has brought both positive and negative attention to the Film Festival - a few misguided filmmakers have withdrawn their films and are encouraging a boycott of these films. Let's make sure we fill the theatres for Tel Aviv films!

Helping us help entrepreneurs in the Third World grow their businesses with a loan as small as $25, please join the Jewish Lending Group! Our short term goal is to reach a level of $3000 - can you help us do that by lending only $25? The best part is that after you get paid back, you can lend out the money again!
